From Prototype to Industry Standard

Over fifteen years ago, the first thermoplastic tote for biopharma was built by a small group of British engineers and fabricators who believed single-use technology could outperform stainless steel.
The same technical minds who designed, welded, and tested the earliest totes went on to form Megafab and later BagBox — investing in new machinery, cleaner processes, and professional training to raise quality and reliability across every product line.
BagBox’s leadership today (shaped by decades in plastics manufacturing) remains hands on and personally involved. From concept to delivery, every customer works directly with the engineers and founders who built the original product.
John Wright leads BagBox as Managing Director with over two decades of expertise in plastics manufacturing and bioprocess containment. From founding Megafab to now directing BagBox, John has driven the development of the original thermoplastic tote, ensuring each unit meets rigorous GMP and clean-room standards while scaling production capacity for global biopharma.
Marc Koudenburg serves as Business Development Director with BagBox, leveraging his strong background in specialty plastics and global markets to connect BagBox’s engineering solutions to biopharma manufacturers and CDMOs. His role spans customer relationships, strategic partnerships, and ensuring BagBox’s product offers align with evolving single-use and regulatory trends.
BagBox works alongside SUT vendors, system integrators and pharma engineering firms as a collaborative hardware partner for single-use bioprocessing projects. Our vendor-agnostic thermoplastic infrastructure is designed for seamless integration into validated fluid-handling workflows, and our engineering team provides CAD files, technical drawings and co-development support to accelerate facility commissioning. Whether you are specifying infrastructure for a greenfield biopharma facility, scaling a CDMO operation, or developing an OEM carrier solution for a proprietary bag system, BagBox provides the physical execution layer your project requires.
BagBox shaped the thermoplastic bioprocess tote industry from its very beginning, and that continuity matters in biopharma where validated infrastructure and trusted supplier relationships are not easily replaced. When you work with BagBox, you work directly with the engineers who design and build your carriers, not with a sales layer between you and the technical decision-makers. That direct engineering contact means faster adaptation to your specific SUT bag system, shorter cycles from brief to custom-fit validation, hands-on expertise applied from day one, and the kind of rapid response to process changes that a founder-led engineering team delivers where larger organisations cannot.
